The Howard Wood Relays wrapped up Saturday afternoon in Sioux Falls for Track and Field. Winner’s Jaxon Day won the boys discus with a throw of 174-11. Lucas Fischer of Grand Forks Central was runner up with a throw of 171-08. Winner’s Legend Benedict was third with a throw of 168-08. The Kimball/White Lake boys placed fifth in the boys class B 4X4 relay. In the boys class B 4×1 relay, Gregory placed sixth. Jones County’s BreAna Aske was tenth in the girls 400. Gregory’s Colt Keiser placed sixth in the boys 300 hurdles. The Chamberlain girls finished 9th in the class A sprint medley relay. The Gregory boys placed fifth in the boys class b sprint medley relay.

At the Middle School/JV Invite at the Winner Country Club on Friday, Winner Area’s Claire Pravecek was the medalist shooting a 51. Creed Harmon of Chamberlain was runner up with a 56. Sophia Simonsen of Chamberlain placed third by carding a 56. Leticia Fernandes of Winner Area was fourth with a 61. Kenli Pollard of Winner Area rounded out the top five by shooting a 63.

At the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls on day 1,

The Kimball/White Lake girls placed fifth in the Class B 4 x 8 relay in a time of 10:20:05. The KImball/White Lake boys finished runner up in the Class B 4 x 2 relay in a time of 1:32:88. George Little Rock was first in a time of 1:31:61.The Chamberlain girls finished seventh in the Class A 4 x 8 relay in a time of 10:02:06. Gregory’s Dani VanDerWerff placed eighth in the girls javelin with a throw of 118-02.

Todd County won the boys team title with 83 points. Lyman was second with 78 points and Winner was third with 73 points. Kadoka won the girls team title with 78 points, Wall was second with 74 and Winner was third with 64 points. Conor Samco of Lyman won the boys 100 in 11:67. Samco also won the boys 200 in 24:58. Hayden Hand of White River won the boys 400 in 53:91. Ciante Black Spotted Horse of Todd County won the boys 800 in 2:10:43. Jacob Allen of Todd County won the boys 110 hurdles in 17:93. White River’s Bryson One Star was the medalist in the boys tournament shooting a 72. Addy Miller of Philip was the medalist in the girls tournament shooting a 91. Tayah Anderson of Jones County was sixth shooting a 100. Hill City won the boys team title. White River was fourth and Lyman was fifth. Philip won the girls team title.

At the Pierre Invite, Olivia Braun of Aberdeen Central was the medalist as she carded a 1 under par, 70. Winner Area’s Gracie Root placed eighth as she shot an 81. Payton Sargent of Winner Area shot a 97, while Reese Halligan of Winner Area shot a 103. Aberdeen Central won the team title, while Winner Area was seventh as a team.

At the Dakota Valley Invite, Katie Betsworth of Dakota Valley was the medalist as she shot a 73. Chamberlain’s Trey Speer was 20th as she shot an 89. Sioux Falls Christian won the team title, while Chamberlain was seventh as a team.

At the Danielsen Relays in Salem, Gregory’s Asia VanDerWerff won the girls 300 hurdles in 49.15. Dani VanDerWerff of Gregory won the girls javelin with a throw of 129-02. Colt Keiser of Gregory won the boys high jump with a leap of 6-03.
