Gregory/ Dallas Kids Fishing Frenzy Tournament
There will be a Kids Fishing Frenzy Tournament on Saturday, May 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Dallas American Legion in Dallas, South Dakota.
This tournament is to help get kids excited about the outdoors. Teams will consist of 2 kids and one adult. Age groups are 4-10 and 11-15. One can pre-register at the Chamber office (120 W. 6th St) in Gregory before May 7 or at the Dallas Legion in Dallas on May 9 from 8-9 a.m.To be to be eligible for prizes, one must check in at the Legion by 9 a.m.
“Pheasant Hunt” Event in Gregory Today
There is a “Pheasant Hunt” event in Gregory today at 4:00 p.m. The businesses and citizens of Gregory and Dallas are encouraged to participate by the Gregory/Dallas Chamber of Commerce.
People will place a pheasant in their front window or yards and be creative and dress it up, decorate the window, or just have the stuffed, metal, painted or any kind of pheasant.
People can drive around and find all the pheasants and count how many pheasants on each street, pick their favorite pheasant, you decide what they are hunting for each time they drive around.
Citizens can post on the Gregory/Dallas Facebook page their pictures of their finds after each hunt and will be entered to win gift certificates or Chamber Bucks.

SBA Approves Economic Injury Disaster Loan Fund Program
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem announced that small businesses and non-profit organizations in South Dakota that have been negatively impacted by the global COVID-19 virus are now eligible for economic assistance from the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA).
Small businesses can learn more about the program and apply for financial assistance at www.sba.gov/disaster or call the SBA at 1-800-659-2955.
South Dakota Stockgrowers Photo Contest
The South Dakota Stockgrowers Association are set to sponsor their first annual photo contest. In an effort to shine spotlight on true conservation and to tell the story of modern-day livestock production along with the people and places involved in this way of life. The SDSGA will be accepting entries of original photographs from April 1st until August 1st.

The Black Lab to Close Temporarily in Winner
The Black Lab bar in Winner will be closing on March 30th due to the Corona Virus and Governor Noem’s/ Winner City Council’s suggestions. They will do a reassessment in two weeks and look at the current situation in regards to deciding on a re-opening date.

The Summer Kick Off Party in Gregory will take place on Friday, June 12th in downtown Gregory, South Dakota. Lakota Youth Development Receives $30,000 Grant
Lakota Youth Development recently received a $30,000 grant from First Nations Development Institute of Longmont, Colorado. This award will support the efforts of Letan Thokatakiya Wicawothehila meaning “From Here Forward Loving All Life”.
This project will widen LYD’s prairie restoration project through the expansion of their chicken coop, beehives, and our gardens to promote sustainable living to youth as they will receive resources needed to reintegrate Lakota traditional food systems with their own homes and families.
