Mid Dakota Fair to wrap up tomorrow

It’s the last couple of days of the 2025 Mid Dakota Fair that’s happening at the Tripp County 4-H Center in Winner. The 4-H Swine, Sheep and Market Goat Shows will all happen today beginning at 8am this morning. The Breeding Beef and Market Beef Shows are some of the many things that will happen on Saturday.

Mid Dakota Fair to get underway today in Winner

The Mid Dakota Fair will take place at the Tripp County 4-H Center today through August 2nd. Events will include the 4-H Rocket Launch on July 30th, Stem Challenge on July 31st, The 4-H Swine, Sheep and Market Goat Shows will all happen on August 1st. The Breeding Beef and Market Beef Shows are some of the many things that will happen on August 2nd.

Severe Weather makes it’s presence felt Monday in Central South Dakota

Severe Weather hit Central South Dakota this afternoon and evening. The first warning was issued after 3:30pm this afternoon, and many warnings followed that initial warning. There were tornado warnings issued for Todd, Lyman, Buffalo, Brule, Charles Mix, Tripp and Gregory Counties. Several tornadoes were reported on the ground this evening. Severe thunderstorm warnings were also issued for most of our Central South Dakota counties, with some reports of two inches in diameter hail, and 60 mile per hour wind gusts. There were also reported fires due to lightning, with response from our area fire departments.
