A murder-mystery show will be taking place at the Dallas Legion on February 8th. The name of the show is the Case of the Missing Matchmaker. The show will begin at 6pm. The cost for tickets is $25 per individual and $40 per couple. RSVP by calling the Gregory/Dallas Chamber at 835- 8270, ext. 5.

South Dakota’s 34th Governor Larry Rhoden says he is ready to take over after Kristi Noem’s resignation Saturday.

Rhoden, 65, who ascended to the role after the U.S. Senate confirmed Noem to become the next secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, spoke publicly for the first time about the transition process that has been underway since President Donald Trump nominated Noem on Nov. 12.

In preparation for the ascension, Rhoden says he has held briefings with Noem and top cabinet officials, as well as sought out advice from long-time allies like Matt Michels and former Speaker of the House Tim Rave.

The Platte Area Chamber of Commerce has set the date for their 29th annual fishing tournament. The 2025 tournament will take place on May 3rd. There will be over $20,000 in payouts this year. Registration will open February 1st. Further information can be found at plattesd.org.
