The annual Cork Thornton Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament will take place on Saturday, January 27th at the Merritt Dam Reservoir, south of Valentine, on Saturday, January 27th. The 13th annual Mike Dacy free will donation hog roast will take place tonight at Mary Bob’s in Gregory starting at 6:30pm. All of the proceeds will go to Taylor and Tyler Burr. Cost for a raffle ticket is $20, or get three tickets for $50. The grand prize is a Franchi Affinity 3.0 20 gauge automatic shotgun.

On January 10th, the South Dakota Department of Revenue will be doing a presentation directed towards building permits and how identifying growth in the community can be beneficial to the local taxing entities for budget purposes. The presentation will take place in the community room of the Tripp County Courthouse.
