Local election results

Primary elections were held in Central South Dakota on Tuesday. In Tripp County, there was a Republican race for County Commissioner in District 1. Mark Winter received 122 votes and Ray Hannett received 109 votes. In the Republican primary for Tripp County Lamro Consolidated precinct committeeman, Brad Assman received 66 votes, Jeff Krowlikowski received 42 votes and Travis Tobin received 21 votes. For committeewoman, Dondee Krowlikowski received 67 votes and Erin Tobin received 60 votes.

In Jones County, for Commissioner of District 1, Lori Waldron received 64 votes and Barry Valburg received 39 votes. For Commissioner of District 3, Marty Roghair received 72 votes, Paul Erikson received 37 votes and Travis Larson received 24 votes. For Jones County Sheriff, Rich Sylva received 223 votes and John Weber received 132 votes. For Jones County School Board, Ann Geisler received 147 votes, Jared Dowling received 138 votes and Latonya Erickson recieved 135 votes. Ann will serve on the School Board.

The Chamberlain School District elected two individuals to their School Board. Keith Reuer received 597 votes, Jerri Ann Haak had 421 votes, Bart Randall received 396 votes and Stephanie Bolman-Altamirano received 322 votes.

Lyman County voted for County Commissioner at Large. 3 seats were available. James Kotz received 188 votes, Michelle Langenbau had 221 votes, Leroy Ellis received 158 votes, Ryan Huffman received 325 votes, Steve Perry had 264 votes while Zane Reis received 301 votes.

In Todd County, two school board members were elected. Sandra Mancini received 117 votes, Dwight Spotted Tail had 167 votes, Marty Jones received 170, Shelley Means had 301 votes, Michelle P. Allen received 330 votes while Melissa Jo Whipple came away with 269 votes. Michelle and Shelley have been elected to the School Board.

Also in Todd County, an election was held for County Commissioner in Ward 1 and Ward 5. In Ward 1, Daniel J. Gudgel received 40 votes, Richard Dean Steifel had 45 votes while Marshall R. Tinant received 62 votes. In Ward 5, Patsy A. Valandra received 44 votes and Michael John Valandra received 16 votes.

In District 21 for Democratic Representative, Anna Kerner Andersson received 455 votes, Brian L. Jorgensen received 454 votes while Faith Spotted Eagle received 243 votes.

In District 26A in the Democratic primary election for state representative, Shawn Bordeaux received 358 votes and Troy “Luke” Lunderman received 234 votes.
