Scores from Monday- Royals and Honkers state bound

The Winner/Colome Royals won the Super Regional 4B Club BaseballTournament last night at Leahy Bowl as they defeated the Platte Honkers, 4-1. Ty Bolton was the winning pitcher for the state bound Royals as he allowed just one hit and struck out seven. Platte is state tournament bound after they beat St. Thomas More 8-1 in game two at Leahy Bowl. Trevor Sprik launched a grandslam in the victory. The Royals started the day off by beating Lead/Deadwood, 10-0 as Jackson Kinzer picked up the win on the mound. The State Tournament will be held next Monday and Tuesday at the Birdcage in Sioux Falls

The Pre-Region 3A Golf Meet was held yesterday in Mitchell. Parkston won the team title as they scored 371 points. Winner was runner up with a 411 score while Chamberlain was fourth with a 431. Jayden Bormann of Parkston led all golfers as she carded an 85. Winner Area’s Ronae Klein was runner up with an 87. Chamberlain’s Averie Larson tied for 10th as she shot a 101.

At the Region 6B Girls Golf Meet on Monday, Philip won the girls team title as they shot a 354. Newell was runner up while White River placed third with a 384. Josie Rush of Philip was the medalist as she carded a 103. Karlie Cameron of White River was fourth as she shot a 117 and Kelsey Morrison was 6th with a 118.
