The Girls 14U Softball Tournament got underway in Winner last night. In the first round, Clearfield was victorious over Colome, Winner defeated Chamberlain and Burke picked up a win over Bassett. In the second round, Gregory defeated Clearfield, Burke was able to defeat Winner and Bassett was victorious over Chamberlain. The tournament will resume on Monday at 4:30 as Clearfield will play Bassett and Colome will face Winner. Burke and Gregory will play against one another at 6pm Monday. In Little League Baseball, the Majors Tournament was won by Gregory 2 as they won the championship game over Clearfield, 9-2.  The third place game was won by Winner Purple as they beat Gregory 1. Burke defeated Colome 8-6 for 5th place while Winner Gold beat Mission for 7th place, 7-6. In Junior Teener Baseball last night at Leahy Bowl, Winner won the first game of a doubleheader over Colome, 9-1. Colome was able to win game two, 8-6. In amateur baseball, Kimball/White Lake defeated Miller, 12-2. Brian Zeman picked up the win on the mound. Zeman, Wes Kroupa and Ryan Smith had three hits apiece in the victory while Matt Randall launched a two run homerun. In Platte, the Winner/Colome Pheasants shutout the Killer Tomatoes, 3-0 as JJ Farner pitched a complete game on the mound as he struck out twelve. Derek Graesser led the Pheasant offense as he had four hits. In Gregory, Plankinton beat the South Central Storm, 3-0. In girls softball, the Winner 12U team won a high scoring game over Gregory, 11-10.
