8U Little League Machine Pitch State Baseball in Humboldt-

Gregory finished seventh overall. Gregory on Sunday fell to Avon, 11-6.

In the Charlie division, the Dell Rapids Dirt Dawgs won the championship game over Platte/Geddes, 13-11.

 

Little League Baseball Sunday

In the State Championship in Rapid City, Sioux Falls over Brandon Valley, 15-4. Sioux Falls advances to the Midwest Regional that begins August 7th in Whitestown, Indiana. Sioux Falls will do battle against the Nebraska state champions.

 

Golf

In the South Dakota Golf Assocation Amateur Men’s Championship that wrapped up Sunday in Sioux Falls at Elmwood, Parker Edens of Brookings held off Dakota Munger, formerly of Chamberlain, who is golfing at Dakota Wesleyan. Edens won in a one hole playoff after both guys each shot a 206 round 3 total.

In the Women’s Amateur Championship, Kaitlin Strain of Rapid City held off Olivia Braun of Aberdeen Central, as Strain shot a three round total, 217, while Braun carded a 220.

In the USA Softball State Tournament Sunday in Sioux Falls, the Hartford Heat won the 14u championship over Tea, 13-3.

 

Little League Baseball Sunday

8U Machine Pitch State Championships in Humboldt.

In the Delta Division, Clark beat the Brandon Valley Legends in the championship game, 10-6.

In the Alpha division, the Sioux Falls Havoc won the championship game over the Brandon Valley Little Dingers, 4-2.

Twins over the Angels, 4-2. Minnesota enters the All Star break with a record of 48-49, and they are 3 games back of Cleveland and Chicago for first place in the AL Central.
