A FRIENDS OF BRIAN SCHRADER BENEFIT WILL HAPPEN ON MAIN STREET IN COLOME TODAY BEGINNING AT NOON. THERE WILL BE A SILENT AND LIVE AUCTION, ALONG WITH FOOD VENDORS SETUP, ALONG WITH LIVE MUSIC AND CORN HOLE TAKING PLACE. THERE WILL ALSO BE PLENTY GOING ON FOR THE EVENT AT THE COLOME LEGION, AND AT THE FRONTIER BAR IN COLOME TOO.
The Nebraska Class C and D State Track and Field Meets wrapped up Saturday in Omaha. North Central’s Trey Anthony was a state champion in the Class D 110 hurdles as he ran it in a meet best time of 14.88. Anthony finished runner up in the Class D Long Jump. Karlene Kepler of North Central won the girls Class D shot put with a throw of 45-06.75. Ainsworth’s Zaine Evans placed seventh in the boys Class D Pole Vault. Witten Painter of Ainsworth placed eighth in the boys Class D Discus. Reagan Moody of Ainsworth placed third in the girls Class D 800. Gracyn Painter of Ainsworth placed fifth in the girls Class D 100. Painter placed fifth in the girls Class D 200. Reagan Moody of Ainsworth placed sixth in the girls Class D mile. Noah Seberger of North Central placed third in the boys Class D 300 hurdles. Valentine’s Maeli Patterson placed sixth in the girls Class C 200. Ainsworth placed sixth in the girls class d 4×4 relay.
College Softball
Nebraska won their best of 3 Super Regional Series over Oklahoma State in Lincoln on Saturday, 9-1. Nebraska advances to the Women’s College World Series that begins on Thursday in Oklahoma City. Nebraska will go in as a four seed and will play five seeded Arkansas. Game time to be determined.

At the Platte Killer Tomato two person tournament on Saturday at the Lake Platte Golf Course, the team of Mike Plooster and Rocky Nelson won the tournament shooting a 64.

The Nebraska Class C and Class D State Track and Field Meets began on Friday in Omaha. North Central’s Noah Seberger was a state champion in the Class D Triple Jump as he had a meet best, 45-10. North Central’s Karlene Kepler was runner up in the girls Class D discus with a throw of 141-05. The North Central girls finished 7th in the Class D 4 x 8 Relay. Gracyn Painter of Ainsworth was fifth in the girls Class D 400. Reagan Moody of Ainsworth was 3rd in the girls Class D 2 mile.

Breylon Rahn of Hill City was the medalist in the boys tournament shooting a 73. Bryson One Star of White River was fourth with a 77. Hill City won the team title, while Wall was runner up. Taylor O’Connell of Philip was the medalist shooting an 82. Philip won the team title, while Harding County was runner up.

Game 1 of the Super Regional Series between Nebraska and Oklahoma State had play suspended in the bottom of the first inning due to weather. Play will resume at 4pm today, weather pending. Game 2 of the series will be at 4pm Saturday. Game 3, if necessary, the date and time is to be determined.
