The North Central Nebraska RC & D’s January meeting will happen on January 14th beginning at 1:40 in the Bassett City Meeting Room. Agenda items will include planning the 2026 recycling projects and discussing options for hosting events throughout the coming months.

Chili Cook-Off in Kimball tomorrow
Kimball FCCLA will present a chili cook-off tomorrow during the basketball doubleheader against Sanborn Central Woonsocket. The cost is $5 and will run from 5-7pm. Come try out some delicious chili on a Tuesday night!

Early morning accident on Sunday morning
The Tripp County Sheriff and Winner Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident around 3am Sunday morning at Jordan Corner. A cattle truck slid on icy roads and tipped over. The only injuries in the accident were the loss of approximately 5 head of cattle. The Semi had to be towed on Sunday afternoon.
Winner Area Chamber of Commerce to hold annual banquet and awards night tomorrow
The Winner Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet and awards night tomorrow at Saint Mary’s Hall from 6-9pm. Weston Frank will be the special entertainment. There will be raffles and fun games during the evening too, along with awards that will recognize area businesses and individuals as well.

Sturgis won the team title with 331.5 points. Pierre was second with 246.5 points, while Winner was third with 205 points. Canton was fourth with 198.5 points, Kimball/White Lake/Platte/Geddes was fifth with 181.5 points. Lyman was 14th with 59 points.
Winner’s Apollo Willuweit was a champion at 106. Winner’s Judd Hansen was a champion at 113. Winner’s Ryken Orel was a champion at 150. Winner’s Roukyn Robbins won his championship match at 126. Winner’s Legend Benedict was a champion at 285.

Canton won the team title with 251 points.
Unique Clairmont of Todd County placed second at 235.
Jadelynn McCall of Winner placed sixth at 100 pounds.

At the Brandon Invite, Aberdeen Central won the team title with 243.5 points. Chamberlain was sixth with 115.5. points. Placing third in their respected weight classes for Chamberlain were: Brody Neilan, Chisum Bloom, Sutton Powers and Xavier Donovan.
