Another Round of Severe Weather Hits Central South Dakota/North Central Nebraska

Another round of severe weather and heavy rainfall hit central South Dakota and north central Nebraska last night. Here are the local rain reports:

NO SCHOOL TODAY FOR BURKE AND GREGORY

There is no school today for Burke and Gregory Schools due to flooding and impassable roads. Kimball- White Lake is also pushed back an hour today and Platte-Geddes will have a 10 AM start time this  morning.   Due to the large amount of rain that has come in the last two days, roads have been flooded. Meaning that school buses and other vehicles are unable to get to where they need to be.  This has led to the closing of schools in our area.

Dakota Milestones Golf Tourney Cancelled

Yesterday scores:

The Minnesota Twins fell to the Washington Nationals 6-2 last night. With 17 more games left in the regular season the Twins hold a 4 game lead over the Indians in the AL Central .

We also like to remind you that the Dakota Milestones Golf Tourney at Chamberlain Golf Course is canceled this year due to damage done to the course if you made a donation or pin prizes they will go towards next year tournament if you have any questions please contact Penny at 734-5542.

Week four of High School Football is live on Country 1260 and Magic 93.7 this week. On AM Country 1260 Scott Schramm will have Winner at Wagner and on 93.7 FM. I will have Wolsey- Wessington at Gregory. Pregame is at 6:30 Kickoff at 7 PM.

Severe Weather Update/Rain Counts

Another night of severe weather hit central South Dakota and north Central Nebraska last night which included hail, high winds, rain and a tornado.  Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for nearly all of our central South Dakota and Nebraska counties.  Power was lost south of Winner as well as in north central Nebraska.

Volleyball Scores from 9/10

Yesterday scores:
Burke beat Chamberlain 3-0
Wagner defeated Platte-Geddes 3-0
O’Neil beat Valentine 2-1
Valentine beat West Holt 2-0

Some volleyball matches were cancelled due to severe storms in the area.

Don’t forget that the Winner Pool League is holding an informational meeting tonight at 7 PM at the Black Lab on Main In Winner.

Volleyball and Golf Schedules for 8/10

Scotland Invitational Results:

On the boys side Caden Tegethoff of Platte-Geddes ran a meet best at 17:24. Kade Watson of Winner finished in 3rd. Dominic Santiago and Declan Tveit of Chamberlain finished 4th and 5th. Jackson Liewer and Jackson Bauld of Burke were 6th and 7th. Luke Sinclair finished 13th for Gregorys best runner.

On the girls side, Allie Hough and Kinsey Evans of Chamberlain finished 2nd and 3rd overall. Hallie Person of Burke and Sidda Schuyler of Winner finished 5th and 6th overall. Saige Schuyler and Leila Balsiger of Winner were 8th and 9th overall. Ella Phillips of Chamberlain came in 10th. Kelly Sondgeroth was Platte-Geddes best runner finishing in 11th. Emma Thomas of Gregory was 12th overall.

The Winner Pool Leauge will hold an informational meeting tomorrow at 7 PM at the Black Lab on Main in Winner.

Gregory Lanes Bowling Leagues begin tonight with their Tuesday Mixed Doubles, tomorrow begins Wednesday Women’s and Thursday is there Men’s League.

RAE – Hybrids Test Plot Tour
