2019 16th RLS Fall Class Golf Tounament Results

Winner Pool League Meeting Wednesday

Yesterday Results:

The Minnesota Twins fell to the Cleveland Indians 5-2 their lead in the AL Central is at 5.5 games currently.

The Minnesota Vikings opened with a victory over the Atlanta Falcons 28-12.

Coming up on Wednesday is the informational meeting for the Winner Pool League it will be held at the Black Lab on Main in Winner at 7 PM.

Gregory Lanes Bowling Leagues begin this week and there is still time to sign up. They have Tuesday Mixed Doubles, Wednesday Night Women’s and Thursday Night Men’s leagues. Call 605-835-8131 to join the fun.

Week four of high school football is this week. KWYR will be broadcasting two games. On AM Country 1260 Scott Schramm will have Winner at Wagner. Then on 93.7 FM Ryan Strodtbeck will have Wolsey-Wessington at Gregoy. Pre-game starts at 6:30 with kickoff at 7 PM for both games.

Nebraska Football fell 34-31 in overtime to Colorado.

SDSU won 38-3 over Long Island University

Benefit Auction for Colby Kaiser

A benefit supper and “pie” auction will be held to help defray medical costs for Colby Kaiser on Wednesday, September 18th at the “old MS gym” in Winner, SD.  Doors will open at 5 PM and loaded baked potatoes will be served starting at 5:30 PM with the auction following at 7 PM.  Donations can be made by contacting Shawna at 605-208-0027.

Winner Resource Center Community Luncheon

The Winner Resource Center for Families is hosting an informational meeting and luncheon on Wednesday, October 9th from 12 PM to 1 PM. The topic at hand will be on human trafficking which will include guest speaker Becky Rasmussen of Call To Freedom.

Ainsworth Invitational and Volleyball Results

Yesterday results:

In cross country at the Ainsworth Invitational, Winner, North Central, Valentine, and Ainsworth, all participated. On the boy’s side, Ty Schlueter of Ainsworth  finished second overall. Kade Watson of Winner was 5th overall. Qwentin Kappelmann and Tommy Ortner both finished in the top 10 as well for Ainsworth. Jed Vanderwey was Valentine’s top runner with Brendan Bussinger being the top runner for North Central. The top running team in the event was Ainsworth

On the girl’s side Rylee Rice and CeeAnna Beel of Ainsworth finished in the top two spots. Sidda Schuyler of Winner finished in third place. While Daisy Frick and Mariah Ost of Ainsworth placed 5th and 6th. Saige Schuyler finished in 7th place. Lelila Balsiger of Winner finished just outside the top 10 at 11th followed by Bria Delimont of Ainsworth. Riley Teel was North Central’s top runner in the event. Grace Maunu and MaKenzie Long were Valentine’s top runners.

For volleyball results:

Burke defeated Kimball/ White Lake 3-0

Winner beat Ainsworth 3-0

Winner also defeated Valentine 3-0

Todd Co. beat Marty 3-0

Wagner won over Chamberlain 3-0

Minnesota Twins outlasted the Boston Red Sox as they won 2-1. Twins start a three game series over the Indians this weekend.

Ace Plus to Fill Vacant Shopko in Chamberlain

The old Shopko store on King St. in Chamberlain, South Dakota is going to be replaced with Ace Plus which will offer many of the same products as Shopko provided to customers.  The owner will be Bill Bregar from Lander, Wyoming making this his 7th of currently 8 owned Ace stores in South Dakota and surrounding states.  A soft start opening date is planned for December 1st, 2019.

There was no league area action yesterday.

Minnesota feel to the Boston Red Sox 6-2. With the Indians win. Twins lead is at 5.5 games. Twins will face the Red Sox one more time today before a weekend series against the Indians.
