The Winner Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual Fireman’s Dance on Saturday, April 25th at the Winner Armory. Doors will open at 8pm, and the dance will begin at 9pm. Weston Frank will provide the music. You must be 21 to attend. Rides will be available to and from the dance within Winner City limits.

Medicine Creek Golf Course to hold flag auction next month
The Medicine Creek Golf Course in Presho will hold a flag auction and gun raffle on May 9th. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased by contacting Chris Long at 605-838-6002.

At the Yankton Meet, Allie Hansen of Dell Rapids St. Mary’s was the medalist in the girls tournament shooting an 81. Mallory Gant of Platte/Geddes was fifth with an 87. Dell Rapids St. Mary’s won the team title by 12 strokes over Deubrook, while Platte/Geddes was fourth. In the boys tournament, Drew Knobloch of Sioux Falls Lutheran was the medalist shooting a 73. Baltic’s Kaden Rick was fourth with a 76, while Jye Bailey of Platte/Geddes was sixth with a 78. Centerville won the team title by 11 strokes over Baltic and Platte/Geddes.
At the Miller Tournament, Jayce Pugh of Miller won the girls tournament shooting an 80. Tayah Anderson of Jones County was 10th with a 102.Miller won the girls team title. Derek Brueggeman of Miller won the boys tournament shooting a 70. Bodie Whitney of Jones County was 11th shooting an 87. Miller won the boys team title, while Jones County was 8th.

At the Rapid City Track-O’Rama Meet, Winner’s Jaxon Day won the boys discus with a throw of 175-11. Winner’s Legend Benedict was fourth with a throw of 144-08.
At the Todd County Invite in Mission, Jones County’s BreAna Aske won four events. She won the 100-meter dash in 12:87, she claimed victory in the 200 in 27:22, she also won the 400 in 1:02:83, and the long jump with a meet best, 15-11.5. Jones County’s Aubrey Tucker won the girls 800 in 2:43:08. Jones County’s Molly Nix won the girls mile in 6:47:70. Jones County won the girls 2 mile relay in 11:40:37. Maggie Dowling of Jones County won the girls javelin with a throw of 112-1. Todd County won the girls 400 relay in 56:70. White River’s Page Wright won the girls high jump with a leap of 4-10. Talan Iyotte of Todd County won the boys 200 in 23:91. Jacob Allen of Todd County won the boys 110 hurdles in 16:93. Allen also won the boys triple jump with a leap of 39-4.5. Bryson Edwards of Todd County won the boys 300 hurdles in 43:89. Todd County won the boys mile relay in 3:53:79. Bryson Edwards of Todd County won the boys high jump with a jump of 5-6. White River’s Hayden Hand won the boys 400 in 53:25. Elijah Haukaas of White River won the boys 800 in 2:07:44.
At the O’Neill Invite, Valentine’s Dominic Beebout won the boys 100 in 11:27. Jehki Williams of Valentine won the boys 200 in 23:75. Kiley Orton of Ainsworth won the girls 2 mile in 13:04:62.
Carlock to hold first dance of the season tomorrow!
The first dance of the season at Carlock Dance Hall will happen tomorrow night! It will be a free birthday dance for the public, as Kool Water will be providing the tunes from 8pm to midnight.

The Lazy J Sporting Club in Ideal will host a Lazy J Social Event this Saturday, April 18th. Happy hour will be from 4-6pm, and there will be live music by Emry Kaiser starting at 8pm. The event will run from 4 to midnight inside the Bullroom.

JV and Middle School Golf was held on Tuesday. At the JV Meet in Gregory, Reese Halligan of Winner Area was the medalist as she carded a 44. Claire Pravecek of Winner Area was third as she shot a 53. At the Middle School Girls Meet in Burke, Hannah Schuman of Platte/Geddes was the medalist as she shot a 53. Gracie Biggins of Gregory was runner up with a 54. Winner’s Ani Duffy was 13th with a 72. In the middle school boys tournament, Drake Slade of Bon Homme was the medalist as he shot a 44. Reece Burket of Platte/Geddes was fifth with a 46.
The Ainsworth Boys Golf team dualed with Valentine on Tuesday in Ainsworth. Garrett Cumbow of Valentine was the medalist as he shot a 40. Ainsworth’s Bear Rea was runner up with a 41.

The Twins shutout the Red Sox, 6-0. Byron Buxton homered twice in the victory for Minnesota, who now have the best record in the American League at 11-7. Minnesota will wrap up the series against Boston today, first pitch will be at 12:40.
Big Bend Shrine Circus returning to Chamberlain next week!
The Big Bend Shrine Circus will happen on April 20th and the 21st at the Chamberlain Armory! There will be two performances each evening at 4:30 and 7:15. Cost for tickets per adult is $15, and it’s $10 for kids. Advance tickets can be purchased at Burke Oil, or by calling 730-0799.
