Election Day is tomorrow for the Colome School District. The School will be holding an opt out election, as voters will decide to vote for or against the opt out resolution that was passed and referred to the residents of the School District. Polls will be open from 7am to 7pm at the Colome Fire Hall.

State High School Rodeo in Fort Pierre
Taos Weborg of Gregory County was a state champion in bareback riding as he finished with 84 points and qualified for nationals next month in Rock Springs. Seth Heath of Winner was reserve all around champion after racking up 170.50 points. Adessa Haugen of Reliance was the breakaway roping champion as she scored 68 points and qualified for nationals. Prestyn Haugen of Reliance qualified for nationals in tie down as he finished runner up with 69 points.

Winner’s Coy Shelbourn in tie down roping finished with a time of 15.67. Taos Weborg of Gregory County won round 2 of bareback riding with a score of 60. Seth Heath of Winner placed 7th in round 2 of calf roping in a time of 13.29. Heath placed 8th in steer wrestling in Friday’s round in a time of 10.45. Taos Weborg was 3rd in bull riding in Friday’s round with a 65 score.

Frank Cutler retires
Platte/Geddes Coach Frank Cutler is retiring after a decorated 36 year coaching career. Cutler won 546 games in his 36 years as Head Basketball Coach. During those 36 seasons, Platte/Geddes made the State Tournament 13 times, including a State Championship in 2008. Platte/Geddes graduate, Carter Kemnitz, will take over as the Head Boys Basketball Coach for Platte/Geddes.

The 70th annual Rosebud Shrine Circus will be held at the Tripp County Fairgrounds in Winner tonight. There will be one performance at 8pm. Tickets are available at Winner True Value and at Bankwest. Concessions will be provided on the grounds. There will also be circus novelties for the kids too!
