The Todd County Elementary School Fall Fair will take place Tuesday, October 8th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the school. The fair will include game, prizes, arts and crafts.  Also, the girls’ basketball team will have a home game at the gym during that time.

There will be a blood drive in Colome, South Dakota on Wednesday, October 23rd at the American Legion.  This will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  To register or to get more information one can call Vicki Nelson at 842-0270.

The Winner Catholic Church is holding a Turkey Dinner this Sunday, October 6th at St. Mary’s Hall in Winner, South Dakota.  The serving will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets for adults, carry out order and delivery cost $10.00 and tickets for children 8 and under cost $5.00.  Tickets are available at the Parish Office and Marty’s on Main Street.

There will be a blood drive in Butte, Nebraska on Monday, October 28th.  It will take place in the bloodmobile in front the the Butte Community Center from 2:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  For more information one can call Pyhllis Camin at 402-832-5777.

The Pukwanna Fire Department is holding their annual pork feed and raffle on Saturday, October 19th.  The feed will take place at the Pukwanna Fire Hall with serving starting at 5 p.m. right off Main Street. The Raffle tickets will cost $10 for the raffle prize, a Beretta A400 Extreme Plus 12-Gauge Shotgun with the drawing to be held at 9 p.m. that evening.

On Wednesday, October 16th, Ladies Night in Gregory will be taking place.  The Gregory Chamber of Commerce is purchasing gift certificates from local Gregory participating businesses and will be bringing around buckets and registration forms for Ladies to sign up.  Furthermore, local business are able to provide their own prizes, sales or snacks as well if desired.

The film “47 Meters Down” is now showing at the Pix Theater in Winner, South Dakota with its final showing Thursday evening on October 4th.  The film is rated PG-13.  Please note that Fall and Winter showtimes are now in effect at the Pix Theater.

The Annual Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet is taking place Saturday, October 5th at 5 p.m.  It will be held at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine, Nebraska.  Over 20 guns will be given away. For ticket information call 402-389-0604 or one can also purchase tickets at the door.

The annual Trunk or Treat is taking place in Gregory, South Dakota on October 29th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the 5th and 6th blocks of Main Street. Businesses can participate  by having treats of games for the kids in or outside their stores. If a business, individual, or organization is not located within those two blocks they are able to decorate their trunk and then back their car in to hand out treats on the sidewalks.

Given recent disasters in Burke and Custer, Catholic Social Services in Rapid City will be sponsoring two disaster response training sessions for individuals. Case Worker training will take place in Burke, South Dakota Friday, September 27th  at the Sacred Heart Church and volunteer training will be in Fort Pierre, Saturday September 28th at the American Inn.
