Lost Cat: Lewis and Clark Rest Area- Chamberlain

While traveling though South Dakota, an individual stopped at the Lewis and Clark rest area in Chamberlain and lost a grey striped tabby cat, male, large but skinny. He is neutered and does not have a collar but is chipped with the name of “Peter Parker”.  The owner is offering a $500.00 cash reward. Please call 865-274-6195 with any information.

Volunteer Update- City of Burke

The only volunteers needed today are people with loaders & trucks and people will knowledge of how the debris needs sorted. The city is not ready to have any church groups, youth groups or anyone similar. There will be a time when they are needed. So please be patient. The city truly appreciates all the your willingness to help and wants to thank all surrounding communities and locals for their help.

BREAKING: Update from Rosebud Electric Regarding Burke Storm

During the Tuesday evening storm, Rosebud Electric transmission line that supplies power to the City of Burke was severely damaged. Approximately 42 poles were broken. An additional estimated 40 distribution poles were also broken. The Rosebud Electric crews along with help from neighboring Cooperatives have repaired the distribution poles that supply two temporary back feeds into the city of Burke. As of 9 pm Wednesday evening nearly all power has been restored in the Gregory County area. But there are a few individual outages that will be addressed on Thursday. Power was also restored in the west half of Burke late Wednesday evening. This included the hospital and the retirement village. Rosebud Electric will continue to repair the remaining areas within the city of Burke in the next few days. Rosebud Electric would like to thank all our members for their patience and understanding during this disaster.
