The Region 4B Golf Tournaments took place on Friday in Mitchell. Winning the boys team title was Platte/Geddes as they finished with a 239 team score, five shots ahead of second place, Gregory. Brody Boltjes of Platte/Geddes was the medalist as he carded a 73, one shot ahead of his teammate Dawson Hoffman. Eli Fogel of Gregory was third with a 75. Trey Murray of Gregory was fourth with an 80. Bryce Frank of Burke was sixth with an 83. Kade Stukel of Gregory was eighth with an 89. On the girls side, Burke won the team title with a 307. Adisyn Indahl of Burke was the medalist with an 87. Jessy Jo VanDerWerff of Gregory was fifth with a 96. Ashton Summerville of Platte/Geddes with 9th with a 101.
A couple of big events will be happening in our area today. The River Run of Destruction Demolition Derby will take place today in Chamberlain. There will be three classes and admission is ten dollars. They will have concessions on the grounds and a candy scramble for the kids. Also going on today, Shippy Ranch of Colome will be hosting an MBBA/ABBI event at their indoor arena, east of Colome.

At the Region 7A Track and Field Meet in Winner on Thursday, Winner both the girls and boys team titles. The Winner boys finished with 129 points while the girls finished with 166 points. At the Region 6A Meet in Chamberlain, Mobridge Pollock won the girls team title while Chamberlain finished second. The Mobridge-Pollock boys won the team title while the Chamberlain boys finished fourth. At the Region 6B Meet in Avon, Kimball/White Lake was able to hold off Burke for the girls team title. Platte/Geddes finished fifth as a team on the girls side. Platte/Geddes won the boys team title while Burke was second and Kimball/White Lake was third while Gregory was fifth. At the Region 7B Meet in Wall, Wall won the boys and girls team titles. The Lyman boys finished third, Jones County was fourth while the White River boys were fifth. The Jones County girls finished fourth as a team while Lyman was fifth.

Girls High School Golf took place on Friday at the Winner Country Club. Devan Dougherty of Winner Area was the medalist as she won in a one hole playoff matchup with Chamberlain’s Alexis Cronk. Both girls ended up shooting a 95 for the day. Winner Area’s Kelbi Meiners was third, Tessa Mann of Winner Area was fourth, Brennan Bachmann of Winner Area was fifth, Chamberlain’s Natalie Kelsey was sixth, Megan Brozik of Winner Area was seventh, Ceci Watson of Winner Area was eighth and Gracie Root of Winner Area was ninth. In Tyndall, Adisyn Indahl of Burke was the medalist as she carded an 83. Calli Davis and Olivia Bull of Burke finished seventh and eighth respectively while Ava Sargent of Burke was tenth. Burke won the team title as they finished with 294 points. In Track and Field from Friday in Kimball, Chamberlain won the girls team title with 151 points, Kimball/White Lake was runner up and Burke was third. Stanley County won the boys team title with 137.5 points. Burke was runner up and Kimball/White Lake came in third as a team. At the Ethan/Parkston Meet on Friday, Ethan/Parkston won the boys team title while Platte/Geddes was second and Gregory finished fifth. On the girls side, Ethan/Parkston won the team title, Platte/Geddes was third and Gregory was fifth. In Club Baseball, Winner/Colome was able to defeat Hanson, 2-1.
