Gregory set to battle Baltic

The Gregory Gorilla football team will battle Baltic in the first round of the 9AA Football Playoffs Thursday night at Mike Dacy Field. Kickoff is slated for 6pm. The Bulldogs (5-3) played in one of the toughest regions in 9AA this season as Arlington/Lake Preston and Garretson each finished the year unbeaten while Hamlin went 7-1 in Region 2. Baltic  is led in rushing by their senior quarterback Sam Muston, who has ran for over 1,000 yards this season. Muston also leads the Bulldog defense as he has a team high 49 tackles. Baltic has scored wins over Hanson, Chester Area, Menno/Marion, Viborg-Hurley and Parker. They have fallen to Garretson, Canistota/Freeman and to Irene-Wakonda. The Gorillas enter the playoffs with a 6-2 record. The back-to-back 9AA state champs go into the postseason with some momentum as they took down Miller-Highmore/Harrold on the road last week, 36-12.
