At the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament last night in Sioux Falls, a couple of games took place to kick off the tournament as Canova beat Chamberlain, 12-1, and Colman beat Tabor in game two by a final of 11-6. Derek Miller was the winning pitcher for Canova as he struck out nine over six innings. In Major League Baseball on Wednesday, Cleveland beat the Twins by a final score of 2-0.

Dell Rapids is the Class B Legion Baseball State Champion as they defeated McCook/Miner last night in Redfield, 10-7 in eight innings. Matt Gillogly hit the game winning three run home run in the eighth inning to win the championship for Dells. In Major League Baseball last night at Target Field, Trevor Bauer picked up his tenth win on the season as Cleveland defeated Minnesota, 6-2.

The Class ‘B’ State Amateur Baseball Tournament will get underway Wednesday night at Augustana University in Sioux Falls battles Canova at 5:30. Chamberlain earned the final state tournament birth out of the Pony Hills League Conference as they held off the South Central Storm, 9-8. The Canova Gang enters the State Tournament with a 16-5 record. Thursday at 1pm, the Winner.Colome Pheasants (20-2) will battle 16-6 Larchwood. Coverage on Magic 93 will start at around 12:30. The Pheasants took down defending state champion Alexandria, 12-5 in the Sunshine League Championship game on Friday in Platte.

The State B Legion Baseball Tournament will wrapup later today in Redfield. Last night, McCook/Miner was able to hold off Spearfish, 8-7. Dakota Valley won game two over Dell Rapids, 12-2. Today at 1pm, McCook/Miner will play Dakota Valley followed by the winner of game one playing Dell Rapids for the State Championship at 4pm. In Major League Baseball last night, Mitch Garver drove in the winning run in the ninth inning for the Twins as they defeated Cleveland, 5-4.The Twins on Monday traded reliever Zach Duke to Seattle, and Starter Lance Lynn to the Yankees.
