The Winner/Colome Pheasants are the District 5B Amateur Champions! The Pheasants defeated the Alexandria Angels in Platte last night, 12-5. Winner/Colome had a big fourth inning as they broke out for nine runs. Connor Hopkins earned the win on the mound for Winner/Colome as he struck out twelve over seven innings. Austin Calhoon was one of many guys who had big nights at the plate as he had three hits, including a home run. Earlier in the night, Corsica/Stickney beat Platte, 6-4.

At the State B Legion Tournament in Redfield on Friday night, Tabor defeated McCook/Miner, 6-1. Big Stone City beat Redfield in the nightcap, 9-4. Friday afternoon, Spearfish defeated Dakota Valley, 6-4. Dell Rapids won game one, 7-3.

The Southwest Teener Regional Baseball Tournament will wrap up tonight in Corsica. Yesterday, Tyndall beat Canova in game one by a final of 7-1. In game two, Gregory defeated Corsica/Stickney, 12-2. In game three, Canova eliminated Gregory as they were victorious, 10-5. At 5:30 this evening, Tyndall will play Canova for the Regional Championship. In the District 3 Amateur Baseball Tournament in Chamberlain last night, the Chamberlain Mallards were able to outslug the South Central Storm, 9-8.

The 2018 Class ‘B’ State Legion Baseball Tournament will get started this Friday at 10am in Redfield. In game one, Dell Rapids will play Groton. In game two at around noon, Spearfish will play Dakota Valley. At 4:30, McCook/Miner will battle Tabor before Redfield battles Big Stone City in the nightcap at around 7pm. The tournament will run through next Tuesday, July 31st.

Teener Regional Baseball continued last night in Corsica. Gregory defeated Alexandria in game one, 10-3. Corsica/Stickney won game two over Platte by a final score of 5-3. In the District 3 Amateur Baseball Tournament last night in Chamberlain, Four Corners defeated Kimball/White Lake, 12-6. In District 5, the Platte Killer Tomatoes beat Wagner, 3-0.

The Southwest Teener Regional Baseball Tournament got underway Monday in Corsica. In game one, Canova beat Gregory, 19-4. Alexandria was victorious in game two over Corsica/Stickney, 11-1. Canova was able to hold off Platte in game three, 9-7. Tyndall defeated Alexandria in game four last night, 9-5. The tournament will continue at 5pm this evening as Gregory plays Alexandria followed by Corsica/Stickney against Platte. In postseason amateur baseball Monday, Chamberlain defeated Kimball/White Lake, 8-6. Little League Baseball last night, The I-90 Little League All-Stars fell to Canyon Lake, 4-1 in the State Championship Round.
