On Tuesday, May 13th, the Winner Legion Auxiliary will be putting poppies on all the crosses that will be put on veterans’ graves. The poppies will be done at 1pm at the Avenue of Flags building, which is 2 blocks north of First Fidelity Bank. Please come and help if you are able.

They are back at it with another great band tonight at Carlock Dance Hall! Bittersweet will entertain the crowd from 8pm to midnight. If you would like to make a reservation for a table, it’s $5 for the night, or $50 for the entire season. To make a reservation, call Dennis at 835-8034.

Gregory will hold their annual awards night this Monday, May 12th beginning at 6pm in the Gregory Auditorium. Things will get kicked off with a potluck supper at 6. After the meal, there will be a presentation of participants in sporting activities this past year, along with letterwinners and individual awards presented by each varsity coach.

A free will donation fundraising meal will take place at the Gregory Auditorium Community Room this Saturday, May 10th from 11am to 7pm. Proceeds will go towards the Hilltop Drive Inn Theater in Gregory.

Rosebud Electric will be having a planned power outage on Thursday, May 8^th starting at 10:00 am, and will last around 2 hours. This outage will affect the north half of the town of Witten and the townships of Witten, Greenwood, Curlew, Pahapesto, Lonetree, Progessive and the Northwest portion of Carter town ship including the town of Carter itself. The Platte Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual  fishing tournament on Saturday at Platte Creek Recreation Area. The team of Reggie, Ross and Jack Ringling were the winning team. It was the 29th year that the Chamber held the tournament.

The Gregory Lutheran Youth are hosting a Rummage Sale today from 8AM-3PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Gregory. All proceeds go toward sending the youth to the national youth gathering in New Orleans this summer. Many donations of things such as clothing for everyone, luggage, baskets, housewares, furniture, decor, toys, exercise equipment and much more will be accepted.
