The Platte Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Cowboy Christmas Event on Saturday, November 30th at the Platte/Geddes School Gyms from 10am to 3pm. Both gyms will be filled with over 60 total vendors! Santa will be there to take pictures with kids from 11am to 1pm, and there will also be lunch from 11am to 1pm.

Festival of Trees to happen next month in Chamberlain/Oacoma
The Chamberlain/Oacoma Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their Festival of Trees for the entire month of December! The theme is “Christmas through the Decades”. You can pick up a tree map at the Chamber Office, and vote on your favorite tree!

Statewide Ballot Question Election results
Wednesday evening, all 691 precincts fully reported votes for South Dakota Statewide ballot questions. For Constitutional Amendment E: An amendment to the South Dakota Constitution updating gender references for certain officeholders and persons, 57 percent voted no, while 43 percent voted yes. For Constitutional Amendment F, An Amendment to the South Dakota Constitution authorizing the State to impose a work requirement on individuals eligible for expanded Medicaid benefits, there were 56 percent yes votes, and 44 percent no votes. For Constitutional Amendment G: An initiated amendment establishing a right to abortion in the state constitution, there were 59 percent no votes, and 41 percent yes votes. For constitutional amendment H, an amendment to the South Dakota Constitution establishing top-two primary elections, there were 66 percent no votes, and 34 percent yes votes. For Initiated Measure 28, an initiated measure prohibiting taxes on anything sold for human consumption, there were 69 percent no votes, and 31 percent yes votes. For Initiated Measure 29, an initiated measure legalizing the recreational use, possession, and distribution of marijuana, there were 56 percent no votes and 44 percent yes votes. For referred law 21, a referred act to provide new statutory requirements for regulating linear transmission facilities, to allow counties to impose a surcharge on certain pipeline companies, and to establish a landowner bill of rights, there were 59 percent no votes and 41 percent yes votes.
