Winner High School Student Council members are looking for the perfect candidate to be the 2026 Homecoming Parade Marshal. If you have an individual who you feel deserves this honor, please send a detailed description of the individual’s background and why you feel he or she deserves to be Parade Marshal. Fire reported Sunday morning in Mission
A fire broke out in Mission this morning at Sunrise Apartments. Courtesy of the Mission Volunteer Fire and Rescue’s Facebook page, crews responded to a call early Sunday morning in the 5am hour at the Apartment Complex. Upon arrival, the department reported a working fire in three apartment units, along with smoke that was reported to be coming from the roof. As of late morning, the Mission Fire Department , along with other area Fire Departments and Cherry Todd Electric were continuing to put out hotspots from the fire. Further details will be revealed once they become available to us.

Tea Area finished first as a team in Cheer with 278 points. Winner was fifth with 234 points. The grand champion in Dance was rapid City Central with 39 points. Winner was sixth with 34 points.

At the Gregory Invite, Bennett County won the Championship Match over Platte/Geddes. Burke won the third place match over Edgemont. Kadoka won the consolation championship match over Gregory.

At the 19th Hole 2 person Tournament on Saturday at the Gregory Golf Course, the team of David and Eli Fogel were victorious as they shot a 59.
Homecoming Week in Ainsworth!
Homecoming will be celebrated this upcoming week in Ainsworth! The theme is ‘Unmask the Bulldog Pride’. The parade will start at 10am on Friday. Their football game will be Friday at 2pm against North Central, and coronation will happen after the game.

Southern Plains to hold butterfly release in Gregory on Wednesday
Southern Plains of Gregory will be holding a butterfly release on Wednesday, September 9th beginning at 6:30pm at the Gregory City Park Performance Center. The guest speaker will be Kate Cook. The event is in recognition of Suicide Awareness Month.

Winner will hold a traditional Wacipi on September 5th and 6th at the Winner Community Event Center. It will be a drug and alcohol free event, and a meal will be provided both days. The event will start at 1pm each day with grand entry at 7pm each night
