Our game of the night on Magic 93 in High School Football tomorrow night will come your way from Burke when the Cougars battle Colome. Pregame coverage will start at 6:25 for the Highway 18 showdown. Both teams have dominated the opposition in the first two weeks of the season as Colome has handled Centerville and TDA/AC/DC. The Cougars, like the Cowboys, are 2-0 as they have dominated Scotland and Gayville/Volin.

Chris Doski will be back another edition of ‘Coaches Corner’ this Saturday on Country 1260! Doski will be visiting with at least twenty of our area fall sports coaches to talk high school football, volleyball, cross country, boys golf and cheer and dance. The program will begin at 9am, so be sure to set your alarms!

The McCook/Central Montrose Cross Country Invite took place on Tuesday. Winning the boys race was Thaniel Schroeder of Freeman Academy in a time of 16:07:51. Locally, Burke’s Jackson Liewer finisher fourth and Dominic Santiago of Chamberlain was seventh.Freeman/Academy won the boys team title. In the girls race yesterday in Salem, Lindsey Roth of Ethan/Parkston was first overall in a time of 18:17:34. Chamberlain’s Allison Hough was third, Winner Area’s Sidda Schuyler finished fourth, Chamberlain’s Ella Byers was fifth and Jolie Dugan of Jones County was sixth. Chamberlain won the girls team title and Winner Area placed fourth. At the Gregory Invite yesterday, Emma Thomas of Gregory won the girls race. Trinity White Hat of White River placed third while Alyssa Jones of Lyman was fourth. The boys race was won by Caden Whipple of White River. Tyson Iyotte of White River was runner up and Brad Lebeda of Lyman rounded out the top three.

Friday Night Football coverage will come your way from Winner and Burke this week. On Magic 93, Doski will have coverage of the Colome at Burke game. Both teams are 2-0 on the season and have been dominant in each game. Pre-game will start at around 6:25. On Country 1260 Friday, Scott and Brett will cover the West Central at Winner game. West Central is 0-1 while Winner is 1-1 on the season. Pre-game will start at 6:25 from Warrior Field.

The latest South Dakota Media Football Polls were released on Monday. In Class 11B, Sioux Falls Christian remains the top ranked team while Winner remains in the fifth spot. In 9AA, the 2-0 Gregory Gorillas continue to be ranked number one while Kimball/White Lake is receiving votes. In Class 9B, 2-0 Sully Buttes is ranked one while the 2-0 Colome Cowboys are ranked third. In the latest South Dakota Media Volleyball Poll, Sioux Falls Christian is ranked atop the Class A Poll while Winner is ranked fifth. In Class B, Northwestern is the top ranked team. Burke is receiving votes.

Our College Football coverage for the upcoming season will kickoff this Saturday night! On Country 1260, tune in for the Akron at Nebraska matchup in Lincoln. The Scott Frost Pre-Game Show kicks off our coverage at 6:15. On Magic 93 Saturday night, the South Dakota State Jackrabbits will open on the road against Iowa State. Pre-game coverage will start at 5:30.
