Day 1 of the Nebraska High School State Track and Field Meet was held on Friday in Omaha. Locally, Ainsworth’s Ben Arens won a state championship in the 3200 meter run as he finished with a time of 9:43:30. Jacob Sinsel of Ainsworth finished seventh in the 3200 with a personal best run of 10:06. Erin Painter of Ainsworth placed fourth in the girls discus. Valentin’s Dylan Lurz cleared six feet in the high jump and tied for 12th. Kooper Reece of Valentine threw 43-06 in the shot put.
